What is Love?

My boyfriend recently told me about an article he read, so I was trying to look it up. It was about how studies show the longer you're in a relationship, the more heartbreak and health issues you could have after you break up. Of course, I failed when searching for it, so I can't verify, but it makes sense. ANYHOW, in the midst of my search for this article, I have found more about love.
It made me laugh.
A lot.
No, I'm not a horrible person, well, I am inherently evil. But that's a different topic.
But I find it funny that I can tell you exactly what love is. And I have been able to since I was younger. Maybe early teens.
Love is not a feeling. It's an action. It's getting up when the person you love is sick and taking care of them. It's making their favorite food even though you hate it. It's not holding things against them when they say stupid stuff that might hurt you deeply. It's about giving second chances, and them always being on their first try. It's about working out your differences and settling on agreement.
It's not about you. You shouldn't expect anything in return. It's not about what can I get from them. It's not selfish.
And you know what else?
we have a perfect example of what love is. Shown to us since the beginning of time. To quote the Bible (LE GASP!!! THE HORRORS OF FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND RELIGION!) We can see where I get my starting point from.
The passage is an NIV translation, and is found in 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8. The first sentence in 8.
"4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.8Love never fails."
doesn't that say what I said above? Only it's shorter and doesn't give pin point examples. But you should get the point. Also this shows a bit of what God does. I mean, there's so much about God that I think we'll really only be able to understand him fully is when we die and go to Heaven or Hell. However, you can see these qualities of love in God. God is love. and he is the perfect example of it.
I think that's my rant for the night. I could expand more on the spiritual bit of it. Which I will do. Just not today. Think about it. Look into it. Look to the couples you know that are stronger and see how they treat love. Society has made love about the feelings, and not the action, which has just led to lots of issues.

observations and ranting

It's so funny to watch people. Have you ever sat and just observed people? At school, in the store, parking lot, even your friends. It's pretty fun, and if you're good at it, you can figure out details about a person with out them even knowing you. I enjoy that. I sit in the atrium at my school and observe all the college students/faculty. There's all sorts of age ranges there as well, some high school (me, my brother for example) college age students, people in there 30's and older. Then all the teachers, and some days you wouldn't know they are teachers with they way they hang out with us. I also see how the world is full of hypocrites (YES! It's not just for Christians anymore!) I observe people using offensive language (yes, I get people use it, I'm not that sheltered, but it's seriously like every other word, and then it's just awkward.) and then they turn around and come to my table and not use a word of it, when I haven't told them that I don't appreciate such language. I listen to people complain about the standards that are placed to get into certain degree programs (like nursing for example, you have to take a entrance test, back ground check, and a few other things) and if they get bad grades on there entrance test, or are pulling a 'C' or below in classes, they complain about how it's not fair that they have such standards. I just think that if you are not willing to put the time into study, and are going to complain that much about getting in the program, how much more are you going to complain when you have to do clinicals, take care of people? and personally, I don't want you taking care of me if you can't take your schooling seriously. (don't worry ya'll. I am taking the fact I will care for your life very seriously. But I will tell you now, those classes have been a pain in some ways.) But yet with as much complaining that goes on, they never talk to the Dean of nursing about the standards to get it. Instead they will find anyone in the classes with them to complain. And I just sit there and think what I previously stated, and I also think that it really isn't that hard to do what they ask.
ANYHOW! I feel like I got sidetracked a little...but you might not have caught on to that. =)
So anyhow, Observations...
Kinda like a first impression, only more...secret. I can tell you a lot about the people that go to my school, even if I've never said hi to them. I've had guys stare at me, then turn around and joke with their buddies. I've had people sit there alone and study, every week. I've had those who just walk in the room and make me on edge. I've seen those who are obnoxious one day, then chill the next then repeated the same cycle.
And speaking of cycles, I feel like I'm about to go into a cycle of repetitiveness, so I'll leave you with a parting thought of sorts.
What type of observation do you want to be? A hypocrite, a good one, a bad one, or one where you scare people by the looks. This goes beyond meeting some one the first time. This is where you may never notice a person, and they've noticed you and have figured you mostly out by the time you meet.

Politics

Who's bright idea was it to start the whole "praise" President Obama? I mean, yes you have your right to think he's a wonderful excellent president. and I have my right to disagree, which I do. strongly. I mean, you have your right, I understand that.. but what I don't understand is the fact we have preschoolers and kindergartners singing how great or how no one is as Irish as Obama (his great grandpa was Irish..) when we start forcing kids to sing this stuff, I want to say it's indoctrination. These kids don't understand necessarily what the difference is between inflation of money, and how printing tons and tons of it without people buying our debt makes things "more" expensive cause we don't have enough gold in Fort Knox to keep the dollar stable. they don't get that if we stopping printing/handing out money that maybe things will be cheaper. I mean, yes they might understand that.. but are they taught that as there learning songs about how Obama is going to save the health care? (which will be trillions, not billions by the way) no, their not. While every one (including the media.. besides Fox News, which I believe some white house person said it wasn't a news station.... which I don't get cause their completely reporting news and using actual video of the people their reporting... how is that not news?) is over looking the fact that DC is taking away our freedoms behind close doors (IE, the Hate Crime) or the fact that they hide other little crimes inside bills that no one knows about in bills they wish to pass, or the fact bills that might pass will cost three times the amount their telling us what it will cost. How can the truth get out of what's happening when we're teaching our kids to sing about how amazing Obama is?

I mean, I just kinda want to get out there now and make my own video of my "praise song" the idea is I will write a song of every bill that has been passed, and decisions that Obama hasn't decided on (IE, Afgan) all the while doing "hail Hitler" sign and I will say Obama's full name and do that whole..Hitler sign, I don't recall what it's called, but one hand on one shoulder, over other shoulder and than up in air. (no, I am not a white supremest or racist, I believe we are all equal.) I would goose step as I sing the song. I mean... didn't Hitler have youth singing praises to him? he used the youth in order to gain popularity among other people. I'm not necessarily calling Obama a dictator, there isn't enough evidence to support that. But I'm just saying that Hitler didn't appear to be that screwed up until after he was in office. and he had the people wrapped around his fingers cause of his charisma....

Yes, I am happy that we have a Black President. It's one of the amazing things about this country. Any race, any religion, (as long as your like...3rd generation American) can become President. I just don't agree with the politics of Obama or how people are sickeningly in love with him. I am not also calling him evil or stupid or anything like that. I just find it disgusting of what is not being taught to us masses cause we have been called "stupid" by democratic politicians when they are suppose to work for us. the masses of people who elected them.

If you don't believe me about the whole praise songs to Obama. Look em up on You tube. It's pretty scary stuff. A lot of them have been removed I believe (I wonder why?...)

Sam, My Crazy Friend

So, let me tell you the story of a friend name Sam. I don't know when I first met him. Several years ago, seeing how we go to the same church. Sam is a unique character in the story of my life. He's funny, smart, and just plain un-usual- in a good way of course. However, Sam does have some problems. He tends to be very very clingy in a almost unhealthy way. Yet when you try to cling to him (as I have recently taken upon myself to do...) he freaks out. It's kinda comical in a way. Knowing that in five-thirty minutes he is sure to touch you in a way, from holding your hand, a hug, or a hand on your shoulder, but yet when you try to do the same thing, he freaks and just stares at you. But that has not stopped me in my quest of hugging him.
Sam is also... odd in the manner he speaks. He uses such odd language. It is almost as if he is despretly trying to appear smarter. (which he has no need to do, seeing how he's already smarter than I am.) He will just throw these..words out and sometimes there the most unheard of, or smart sound slang.

There is so much more about Sam. But if I were to try to put it all down on paper, we would be here for a million years. Better to give you the basics from me and send you to his blog at:
